Looking for a good place to stay near the entrance to Denali National Park? Allow me to recommend Denali Lakeview Inn. Located on Otto Lake, not far from Healy, Alaska, we stayed there the night before we went to Camp Denali. Prices were reasonable by Alaska standards and the rooms were much nicer than average. You could pay much more near the Park entrance and stay at a place not nearly so nice. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were spacious and nicely decorated, certainly deserving of AAA's Triple Diamond rating. Continental breakfast is left in the refrigerator so you can fix it in your own room at your leisure. Every room has a nice view of Otto Lake and the mountains beyond. All of the photos on the Otto Lake page were taken from our balcony or from the Lakeshore on the Inn's property. The Inn is open year around, but reserve a room well in advance if you are staying from from June through August, the prime tourist season. From the entrance to Denali National Park, go 10 miles north on the George Parks Highway to Milepost 247. Exit at Otto Lake Road and go west 1.2 miles. Turn left at the sign. Denali Lakeview Inn |
Food was good at the golf course restaurant, on Otto Lake Road between the Denali Lakeview Inn and the Parks Highway. |
