October 29, 2001 FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY We concluded our discussion of last weeks topic as we went over exposure compensation in flash photography. Just like in ambient light photography, there must be some exposure compensation to allow for subjects that are darker or lighter than medium toned. NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY We watched the Night Photography video produced by Black Rabbit Productions (303-443-2232). After watching the video went over some tips for various kinds of night photography. For our in class assignment, we went out side and double exposed the moon over the Art Institute. MAXIMUM SHARPNESS The next topic of the evening was on how to get maximum sharpness in our photographs. We looked at several ways to do that. STUDENT WORK Then concluded class by reviewing student work. ASSIGNMENTS Go outside on a clear night and shoot star trails. Then try doing a moonlit landscape. Then try double exposing the moon over a moonlit landscape. With high speed fil, try doing star points.
