Portage Lake is a short drive from the end of Turnagain Arm. When we arrived the area near the visitors center was filled with icebergs.
As the ice is formed, small air bubbles are trapped in the ice. This causes the blue color. The size and number of the air bubbles determines
the absorbtion of red and yellow light.
