Nature Photography Workshop "From Snapshots to Great Images: Calgary Alberta Canada Workshop Leader: Workshop Location: UPDATE, Oct 14: 17 excited photographers had a great time and learned a lot about photography at the Calgary workshop a week ago. Plans are already in the works to have a longer version of this workshop in 2014.
You will learn: Metering, the First Big Step Toward Great Images The Magic of Depth of Field, The Doorway to Dramatic Images Working WITH the Light to Create Beautiful Images From Grand to Intimate - Landscapes Great and Small
1. Pen and paper to take notes. 2. Your camera and the instruction manual. A camera that lets you take manual control of the aperture, shutter speed, and ISO will work best. 3. An "18% gray card". If you don't have one, you can buy one at your local camera store. A simple one for $10 - $20 will do. 4. If you have a copy of Digital Photography Exposure for Dummies, bring it to the workshop.
Jim Doty has 18 years experience teaching photography, His faculty experience includes the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Graceland University, and The Ohio State University. He is currently on the faculty for Ohio State University's Stone Laboratory on Gibraltar Island. Two of Jim's former students are now shooting professionally. Jim is a freelance photographer with extensive experience in landscape, event, portrait, and commercial
