Bring:

1. Pen and paper to take notes.

2. Your camera and the instruction manual.  A camera that lets you take manual control of the aperture, shutter speed, and ISO will work best.

3. An "18% gray card".  If you don't have one, you can buy one at your local camera store. A simple one for $10 - $20 will do.

4. If you have a copy of Digital Photography Exposure for Dummies, bring it to the workshop.


Jim's Background and
Teaching Experience

Jim Doty has 18 years experience teaching photography, His faculty experience includes the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Graceland University, and The Ohio State University. He is currently on the faculty for Ohio State University's Stone Laboratory on Gibraltar Island.

Two of Jim's former students are now shooting professionally.

Jim is a freelance photographer with extensive experience in landscape, event, portrait, and commercial photography. His work has been published by Best Western Hotels, Crowne Plaza Hotels, the Herald, Holiday Inn Hotels, the Kirtland Temple Historic Site, KOA Campgrounds, Magic 106.3, The MichMatist, National Wildlife Federation, The Ohio State University, Presbyterian Church (PCUSA), Staybridge Suites, UNCF (United Negro College Fund), Wiley Publishing, Inc., and the Yukon Review.

Jim is the author of
Digital Photography Exposure for Dummies. Jim has the ideal combination of practical photo experience and extensive teaching experience to provide an inspiring and informative learning experience.
